Funding Madrina’s Emergency Care
Hello all!
I am Maria Eugenia Gonzalez.
In 2019, I had to evacuate my mom from Venezuela due to the instability of basic life necessities in the country and the needs of her dementia and caregivers.
This year, on Tuesday, January 23rd, my mother, 88 years old, fell and had her hips and arm fractured.
She had surgery in a hospital in Katy, Texas.
To get Mom back to walking, she needs rehabilitation and special nursing care because of her hip pain when trying to walk or even in bed.
Mom is not eating well due to her swallowing dysfunction as a consequence of the dementia progression and needs a special diet and medicines.
I had to resign from my job to attend hospital visits and make sure Mom was improving after the surgery in the hospital.
It becomes one step at a time between family, hospital, and Mom’s complications left by the surgery, like infections that we need to prevent.
The support for our elders encounters many difficulties when it’s about 24-hour care and wellbeing.
I am thanking you if you could donate to help me set Mom's care at home with a hospital bed and skilled medical professionals to assist us in Mom’s safe care.
Also, Mom needs rehabilitation.
The nurse is available to assist, and we are willing to plan her therapies to come home.
Transporting her can only be done by ambulance.
We only need some of your kindness.
This is a decision taken from my heart to confront the situation. I know I am not alone.
I am dedicating myself to this cause to help many families. This could help build more support for our abuelos and improve our communities.
Thank you.
