ABOUT THE ORGANISER

My name is Nadia Amara and I initiated this Fundraiser campaign in July 2024 on behalf of my friend Madleen and her family to evacuate from the terrors of the genocide taking place in the apartheid zone and for them to have a chance to rebuild their lives and raise much needed awareness to the atrocities taking place in the Holy Land. They face enormous challenges on a daily basis in terms of corresponding to mandatory formalities and living with overarching worries and constant fear of the day-to-day, minute-to-minute physical safety of the rest of the immediate family. They have had to repeatedly flee for their lives from one place to another, given the desperate and deteriorating, simply worsening situation on-ground.

MADLEEN'S BACKGROUND & FAMILY UPDATES

As-salam-Mu-Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh to people all around the world. This is NOT a test for US; it’s a test for the REST of the WORLD!!!
I am Madleen Tayseer, a survivor of the ongoing genocide from Rafah, Gaza Strip, occupied Palestine. I am a Graduate in English language and Literature from Al-Quds University, Palestine. I’m a highly skilled and experienced content writer and English-Arabic translator. I am writing these lines after careful consideration for urgent assistance to escape safely/save my family from the dire/horror/terror/starvation situation in Gaza.

We (All Palestinians) never-ever wanted to leave our Homeland and Al-Aqsa Holy place but sadly the situation is forcing us to find another place temporarily to live safely.
Amid continuous bombings in the Gaza strip, we lost our Homes, Clothes, Cash Money, Furniture, belongings, Businesses, Jobs, schools, relatives, friends, neighbors, and access to basic needs like food, water, medical supplies EXCEPT our courage, passion, hope, and trust in Allah. But these losses are nothing compared to the unbearable pain of losing my grandma including 22 family members in a devastating bombing/terror attack at our home on April 20th, 2024, which not only destroyed our dream house but also martyred our family members; most of them were children (15) and two were embryo babies.

  • First Bombardment/terror attack on December 2023 – no causality
  • Second Bombardment/ terror attack on April 20, 2024 – lost 22 family members
When we became homeless/displaced; only had a few items that we could carry and didn't imagine in our worst dreams that we would not be able to return. We were thinking that we would return after a few days to rebuild our lives and recover from the nightmare we were enduring by getting out of the Gaza homeland.

  • 1st Displacement on 6 May 24 from East Rafah Home - Mawasi Rafah
  • 2nd Displacement on 26 May - East Khan Younis
  • 3rd Displacement on 16 Aug 24 - Mawasi Khan Younis
Next, we don’t know because a major massacre in Mawasi Khan Younis on September 10, 2024, which was only 200m away from our tent, and an Al-Jazeera investigation found the weapon used was an internationally banned weapon.

None of the places is safe including Mosques, churches, schools, universities, hospitals, tents, and refugee camps.

Currently, we are 8 living in a tent, under extremely inhumane conditions. There is a Scarcity of food, electricity, water, poor internet and a proper toilet, hygiene needs, and faucets, in extreme weather like winter cold nights, burning rays of the daylight, toxic smoke, and Rain.
The situation in Ga-za has become untenable due to slow deaths from hunger, weak immune systems because of seized food/medical aids, dehydration, displacement, medical emergencies, and the spread of diseases due to polluted air, building material debris, bombing release toxic chemicals, drainage blockage, food poisoning from canned food and accumulation of waste garbage.

Meanwhile, the education of my brother and 3 sisters has been disrupted. They are continuing their grades via UNRWA E-learning school, but the biggest problem is poor internet access and net pack recharge. They walk about 30 minutes away for network connections. Still learning because the first WORD of the first verse of HOLY QURAN is IQRA.
Moreover, there is no gas available, so we resort to cooking our food over firewood.
This was once the heart of our home, where we gathered as a family.

OUR GOALS
The immediate goal is to secure the safety and well-being of my family in a safe place. To facilitate my family's evacuation from Ga-za to Egypt, we’re initially setting up a GoFundMe campaign to raise $40,000 as Goal #1. This amount will ensure that priority is given to women and teenagers from the family to leave Gaza.

Subsequently, we aim to raise the target to Goal #2 of $64,000 and whatever amount, depending on the progress of contributions/ basic needs.

In order to travel we must pay in USD currency to the Hala Tourism company agent in Egypt who will then register our name and obtain permits to leave Gaza through the Rafah crossing border.

Here is the breakdown of our crossing cost to get out of the Geno-Cide/terror war zone:
  • The average crossing fee is $5000 - $8000 per person (we are 8)
  • GoFundMe's transaction fees (2.9% plus $0.30 per donation)
  • Exchange fees (15% of whatever amount)
There are no minimum necessities for life. We live a tragic life that is not suitable for human living. The situation is very dire and gets worse day by day, Additionally, the prices of essential items have increased by five times, meaning what cost $1 before the war now costs $5.

CONTINGENCY PLAN
In the event that we are unable to evacuate everyone immediately, we will use the remaining funds to support our family's daily survival needs in Gaza. This includes securing essential supplies, education, and medical care to sustain them until we can bring them to safety.

The funds raised will cover expenses for 8 persons within the family incurred by travel agents to facilitate the family's evacuation to Egypt. These expenses include transportation, visa fees, coordination, paperwork, passport renewals, new passport online application, visa applications, settlement costs daily living expenses.

HOW YOU CAN HELP US
Donate: Your generosity will make a world of difference to my family. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to a brighter tomorrow.

Share: We are deeply grateful for your support, we would request you please share this campaign with your friends, family, and colleagues so that we can reach our goal and provide safety for my family.

Please accept our sincere thanks for your kindness and support, as well as your willingness to stand with us in solidarity, Together, we can make a difference and help my family find safety and security.

P.S.
Can I please, say, we’re in a GENOCIDE WARZONE..means...just being alive this minute, is a "Miracle"...is per "God's grace"...may not be there tomorrow morning...today night...you know...may not see tomorrow's Sunrise...tonight Moon…

Even if a ceasefire were to be declared, the destruction in Gaza cannot be swiftly repaired due to the devastation of hospitals, schools, healthcare, education, homes, and restaurants.

THE DONATIONS UNTIL THE BORDER OPENS WILL BE USED FOR ESSENTIAL DAILY SURVIVAL NEEDS IN GAZA.

With love
Madleen’s Family
