Madisyn is my 10-year-old stepdaughter, and she is truly a light in our lives. She’s imaginative, creative, and has a sense of humor that brings so much joy to our home. Her dad and I love her deeply, and we want nothing more than to see her happy and thriving. Unfortunately, every time Madisyn returns from her mother’s house, we see that light dimmed. She becomes quiet and withdrawn, and it takes time for us to help her find her joy again. Her mother and stepfather’s emotional and psychological treatment of her is heartbreaking, and it’s clear that she’s not getting the support and love she deserves in that environment. Her dad has been working tirelessly to save enough money to fight for full custody, but the legal process is expensive and overwhelming.

We want to raise enough money to hire a child family investigator and a good lawyer to give Madisyn the chance to live in a safe, nurturing home full-time. Every dollar raised will go directly toward these costs, helping us fight for Madisyn’s well-being and future. She tells us nearly every week that she doesn’t want to go back to her mom’s, but at only 10 years old, her voice isn’t being heard in the way it should be. Her mom refuses to work with her dad or co-parent, leaving us with few options but to turn to our community for help.
