Help Madisyn get the medical care she needs

Hi my name is Shantel and I’m fundraising for my Niece Madisyn Gonzalez! Madisyn is just 2 years old. After recently moving from Minnesota to Florida, on 1/1/21 she began vomiting nonstop and her parents noticed that she seemed to be drinking more liquids than usual. She became unresponsive & that is when her parents took her to be evaluated at the local emergency room in Lake Placid, FL, where they discovered her blood glucose level was critically high at 866. A diabetic coma is possible at a blood glucose level of 600 or more. Madisyn was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes. The medical team in Lake Placid were unable to give Maddie the care that she so desperately required so she was then life flighted to the hospital in Orlando, where she was placed in the PICU. The medical team in Orlando stated Madisyn was “lucky to be alive.” After being released from the hospital, her parents ran into insurance issues and had to take from all of their savings to pay cash for all of Madisyn’s care, including insulin and medication. They also had to pay out of pocket to travel hours back and forth from Lake Placid to Orlando for endocrinology appts, along with gas, food and lodging as well. After receiving substandard care, her parents recently decided to move back home to Minnesota in hopes to find the best care available for their only daughter. Madisyn’s current insurance isn’t accepted in Minnesota. Although they have applied for insurance in MN, it will not be active until July 1, 2021, which means her family has no way to get her insulin, medication or GM sensors filled and paid for which is crucial for her health as a brittle diabetic. The GM sensors alarm Madisyn’s parents when her blood sugar is too low or too high. Without these sensors her blood glucose level could put her into diabetic ketoacidosis once again. I am asking for donations to pay for Madisyn’s Insulin, medication and sensors which is not covered by insurance at this time. We are also asking for prayers. Please pray for this sweet little girl.
