Hello, I’m Dustin Beggs, a dedicated bass fisherman on the Madisonville High School Fishing Team. This year, I have worked hard and fished diligently, achieving the rank of 6th out of 266 anglers in the Bayou City Division as an individual angler. I take tournament fishing very seriously, and next year, I will be competing at the college level with Sam Houston State University.
Fishing means so much more to me than just a hobby; it’s a passion I am fully committed to. It teaches me more than just how to catch bass—it enhances my communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and many other valuable skills I can use in everyday life. As a competitive person, participating in high school tournaments allows me to improve my skills while competing against anglers with varying levels of expertise. I have finished in the top 10 in 3 out of the 5 Regular Season Tournaments and in the top 55 at the Regionals Tournament qualifying me for the State Championship at Lake Texoma and Angler Of The Year Championship at Lake Tyler. Travel expenses, tournament registration, and boat fees throughout the season are made possible through sponsorships and donations. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, friends, and family, I was blessed to raise $2,000 at the start of the season. I am now working toward my goal of $5,000 to help complete the season, and any contribution would be sincerely appreciated.
Any remaining funds will go toward my college account for the Sam Houston State University Fishing Club.
