From Beating Cancer 3 Times… To UC Berkeley — Now She Needs Our Help.
At just 12 years old, Madison faced what no child should ever have to — a diagnosis of Pancreatic Acinar Cell Carcinoma, an incredibly rare cancer with odds of only 0.19 in a million. If that wasn’t enough, she defied the odds again — and again — by surviving three relapses, each time with less than a 4% chance of survival.
But Madison is not a statistic.
She’s a fighter. A survivor. A dreamer.
And now — she’s a Berkeley-bound college student.
Today, at 18, Madison is four years out from treatment and inching closer to that beautiful milestone of being officially declared a survivor. She was recently accepted into her dream school: UC Berkeley — a huge accomplishment for anyone, but especially for someone who spent her teenage years in and out of hospitals fighting for her life.
Despite being in remission, Madison still faces daily challenges from the long-term effects of aggressive chemotherapy — including Type 1 Diabetes and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). The same treatments that saved her life also left lasting damage. She’s allergic to several medications, has mobility limitations, and lives with the unpredictability of medical emergencies.
That’s why we’re fundraising for two vital goals:
1. A Medical Alert & Mobility Service Dog
A trained service dog will help monitor her blood sugar, alert her to dangerous levels, provide stability when her neurological symptoms flare up, and help her reclaim some independence and peace of mind.
2. Support for Her First Year at UC Berkeley
Between ongoing medical expenses, equipment, and the high cost of college, it’s more than overwhelming for one family to manage — especially after years of battling for survival.
Madison has already overcome the impossible.
Now she deserves the chance to live fully, learn freely, and thrive safely.
