My girl madison was injured jumping out of an SUV on thanksgiving day 2023. Since then she has been in a lot of pain and developed a limp. She was seen by an orthopedic specialist who diagnosed her with a bilateral CCL tear in both of her knees and she needs surgery to correct it. We have tried to get her custom made knee braces as an alternative option to surgery, but after almost a year she is not getting any better. I have tried everything to avoid her needing to get this surgery as it is quite invasive, but we have no more options besides going ahead with the TPLO surgery on both legs. Each leg will need to be operated on at different times, so she will be going through a very long healing process as well. The estimate they gave me is between $5,650-$6,300 per leg. UPDATE: we found another vet in upstate new york that does a different type of ligament repair surgery for $6000 for both legs!!! Maddie is only 3 and a half years old and she is my best friend. She loves running on the beach, swimming and playing with other dogs. Mads has a very silly personality, she makes everyone laugh and smile every time she is around she lights up the room. She is a very gentle girl and she is a great big sister to her bunny siblings. She loves to chase the squirrels and birds, but she wouldnt hurt a fly. It has been 10 months that she has been on rest now, and hasn't been able to enjoy her life as she should be especially at her age.
