Hi, I’m Madison McKown, a high school debater from Arkansas. Debate has changed my life because it’s taught me how to find my voice, stand up for what matters, and make a difference. This year, I have the incredible honor of being one of only two students from Arkansas to qualify for the NSDA national tournament in my event.

Now, I have been given the opportunity to go further with my skills: JDI camp. This camp would sharpen my skills, connect me with top coaches, and allow me to bring those lessons back to teach my entire team. In a state where debate resources are limited, this opportunity means more than words can say.

The only thing standing in my way is the cost. It’s more than my family can afford, so that’s why I’m turning to my community. Your support would be investing in a student fighting to represent Arkansas on a national stage. I would be able to give back to others by mentoring and teaching what I learn.
