Help Madison Overcome Oral Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Noah. I’m creating this GoFundme for my wife.
Madison, my wife, was diagnosed with Stage 1 Oral Cancer this past week. There is no known cause for this diagnosis. Her cancer is not aggressive and will not need chemotherapy. This cancerous spot is removable. However, 1/3 of her tongue will be removed in surgery. Madison is having this surgery within the next 4 weeks.
Madison also will have CT scans done every 3 months to ensure there is no more cancer in her mouth nor in the lymph nodes located in the right side of her neck. If there were to be cancer in her lymph nodes, Madison will have to have them removed and a drain placed in her neck.
While all this has been going on, Madison has not been able to get insurance to cover what she needs. This is why we have resorted to making a GoFundme. While we will be continuing to search for coverage, Madison will still be out of work for a week after surgery. Madison also has unpaid bills stacking up. The money donated will be helping Madison stay on her feet after surgery and during recovery and also to pay for any uncovered medical bills.
Thank you for standing with us. Your help means more than words can say.
UPDATE 8/1/25
Madison had her surgery, a partial glossectomy, done on 7/16/25. She has healed well and can speak almost back to normal. Pathology on the tongue tissue taken did come back negative.
But the deep tissue margin taken was more than the Dr. wanted. The cancer board at Wellstar MCG had a disscussion on Madison's case and agreed to proceed for Madison to have a neck dissection done. This surgery consists of the Dr. removing every possible lymph node located on the right side of her neck. This will prevent cancer ever reaching her lymph nodes. Pathology will be done on every lymph node taken. If any cancer is detected in pathology of these lymph nodes, radiation and even chemotherapy will be on the table.
The neck dissection surgery will be happening on 8/8/25. Madison will be staying overnight and a drain will be placed in her neck. Recovery time is set at 2 weeks.
THANK YOU to everyone who has donated !! We are so grateful to have such a support system in this difficult time. Also THANK YOU to everyone who has sent such kind messages to Madison and I. The love and prayers have meant more to us than anyone could ever know.
