The Cunningham Sisters Non-Profit Feature Film, "Resilience"

Tax deductible

Inspired by real events, “Resilience” is a non-profit feature film that follows the story of Ruth, a young girl caught in the vicious cycle of the foster system, who is suddenly sentenced to a correctional facility for teens that creates a "Lord of the Flies" environment in the name of “therapy”.

In the midst of wrestling PTSD from her own broken family history, Ruth must survive severe physical and emotional abuse at the hands of her fellow students - each of whom have their own dark past. Despite being surrounded by darkness, Ruth has a unique strength for inviting hope into every situation. Withstanding all persecution, Ruth earns trust and respect from a few of her fellow residents. A coalition forms, finding escape through the simple joys of life and friendship. After a failed breakout mission, Ruth is sentenced to isolation - leaving the gang to carry on the torch of hope she lit to take down this obscene system.

Our goal in making this film is to spread awareness to the fact that facilities like this are still open today and to inspire redemption and hope to our generation that has been pitted destructively against one another.

As our goal in making this non-profit feature narrative film is solely to make a change, any revenue that we make on this film will be given back in a 50/50 split plan. 50% will go towards the advocacy groups that are currently pushing to change legislation for regulating these schools, and 50% will go towards making more advocacy films like this. If you want to be a part of helping us tell this story, your donation will be going towards making this movie happen.

Our goal is to raise $150,000 by this November so that we can shoot in the Spring of 2025. We have already confirmed a shooting location and begun building our team, as well as pitching private donors where we have raised our first $10,000! We have also raised over $250,000 in goods and services! We just need the remaining cash to pay for food, utilities for our location, and some gear we still need!

Thank you so much for your time and consideration, your support means the world to us as we set out on this adventure of telling stories we believe need to be shared.

We also have launched a website that informs you how we will be using the finances and what our goals and schedule will be for the project. Take a look at the link below !
