Hi Everyone! Thank you dropping by my GoFundMe page.
My name is Madison McClain-Frederick and I am so excited to announce that I will be going to Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea for the spring semester of my junior year (woohoo!). Since the age of 11, I have been really fascinated by East Asian culture, and with this opportunity I hope to develop a better understanding of the cultural complexities of South Korea through my visit (and enjoy myself in the process!).
Currently, I am an East Asian Studies Major at Wesleyan University, and have been studying Korean for around 3 years. While maintaining my 3.7 GPA, I keep myself busy with Kpop dance club, Korean Fan Dancing, and numerous Korean politics and language classes to further my appreciation and understanding of South Korea and the many aspects of its culture. In my travels to South Korea, I hope to build on my conversational Korean through the full immersion of the culture, as well as shape myself into a more well-rounded, open-minded person by acquiring more worldly experience.
This program will take place from late February to the end of June.
Your support will all go directly towards helping fund:
Food
Laundry services
Plane tickets
Textbooks
Thank you in advance for any support you can offer! It is greatly appreciated and I couldn't do it without you <3
