Hi!!

This summer I am going to be spending 9 weeks in South America participating in a program called Spanish and Medicine by Ecela (check out the link if you have the chance). During my time I am going to be shadowing doctors, volunteering in clinics, and learning 3 levels of Spanish. My ultimate career goal is to become a doctor and help people of all backgrounds. More people speak Spanish as their main language in the United States than in Spain. These people are often too intimidated to seek health care because they are unsure if the physician will be able to understand them. I want to expand my proficiency in Spanish in a clinical setting to make the Hispanic community in America feel more comfortable when they are in need of help.
