Help Madison and Tyler Through Crisis

Dear Friends, Family, and Community Members,

I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a deep sense of urgency. Recently, my daughter Madison, and her family has faced an unexpected and devastating hardship that has left them in a dire financial situation. My son-in-law, Tyler Akau, was involved in a hit-and-run accident while riding his motorcycle on July 14th, 2024, resulting in a severe fracture to his femur, necessitating immediate surgery. As you can imagine, this will require him to be out of work for the next 4 to 6 months.

With Tyler being the sole source of income to the home, this will place an immense strain on their family of 6. Since Tyler will be unable to work during his recovery period, they are faced with the daunting challenge of managing normal household expenses and medical bills without his income.

Your generosity and support during this difficult time would mean the world to them. Donations received will be used to cover essential living expenses such as rent, utilities, groceries, gas for medical appointments and any medical bills/co-pays. Any assistance will provide them with the stability and peace of mind necessary to focus on Tyler's recovery and ensure that their family remains secure during this challenging period.

Any donations received will be used during the waiting period of being approved for Paid Family Medical Leave and for any time after that ends since it will not cover the entirety of his recovery time, which is expected to be 4-6 months.

It is in times like these that the strength of community and the power of compassion truly shine. Madison and Tyler just witnessed this as random strangers came to his aide in the middle of the road after the crash; praying, holding his hand while offering calming words, calling EMS and giving statements to officers so they could find out who committed such a horrendous act.
