Help Madison and Her Dad Rebuild After the Mountain Fire

Please help us find Blue! He’s friendly and deaf.

Hi all. My amazing friend Madison O’Donnell and her father lost their home in the Mountain Fire in Camarillo. I can’t fathom her pain and I know there are many other families suffering like hers. I asked Madison to tell us about her story..

”My dad and I have lived at this home for the last 20 years. This was my dad’s dream house, everything he ever wanted. On November 6th, we had barely enough time to evacuate. My dad, the relentless and fighter that he is, tried to do everything to save our property. Our property has 2 pigs, 14 chickens, 3 rescues dogs and 1 cat. My dad’s entirely livelihood depended on his tools that he has used everyday since he was 16. We lost all of that. We didn’t have enough time to grab anything. It was so loud that each time we got one dog in the car, another car would explode once it hit the gas tank, causing the other dog to run out of the car scared. We managed to get 2 dogs but not the third. Blue is myBlue was the third dog, he is my dad’s best friend. He is 10 years old, deaf and has no hair. He would do anything to be with my dad. My dad went back into the house twice trying to find him. My dad had to have the paramedics called because he couldn’t breathe. He was crawling on the floor trying to find the last dog.

My dad would be the first person to offer someone help. Anytime anyone needed help he would offer. Anyone on our street had a car problem or a construction problem, my dad was the guy. I’m not asking so much to help me but please help my dad. He means everything to me and I thought he was dead.“
