Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister, Jen, her husband, Adam, and their baby girl, Madi, who are going through an unimaginably difficult time. What was supposed to be a joyful family vacation turned into a nightmare on the very first night of our family cruise.
Out of nowhere, sweet Madi, who had never experienced anything like this before - began having sudden, unexplained seizures. Her condition became so serious, so quickly, that she had to be medically evacuated from the cruise ship by the U.S. Coast Guard on June 3rd. She was transported directly to the nearest hospital in West Palm Beach, where doctors continued testing and monitoring to attempt to figure out what caused the seizures and how to treat them. At the present moment they are attempting to transfer to Nickalus Children’s Hospital in Miami.
Jen and Adam have not left Madi’s side. They’ve had to immediately shift from vacation mode to full crisis mode navigating medical decisions, hospital logistics, and the emotional toll of watching their daughter go through something no child or parent should have to face, while worrying about their two boys back home. On top of all that, they are now dealing with the significant financial strain of this emergency: medical bills, travel changes, and basic expenses far from home.
We’re raising funds to help support this wonderful family and give them one less thing to worry about. Donations will go toward:
• Madi’s ongoing medical expenses,
• Food and hotel stays as Jen and Adam wait for placement in the Ronald McDonald House,
• Travel and transportation costs, and
• Other unexpected out-of-pocket expenses that come with extended hospital stays far from home.
If you’re able to donate, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Every bit of support gives Jen and Adam the breathing room they need to stay focused on Madi’s care and healing. And if you’re not in a position to give, please know that the well wishes, prayers, love, and strength are equally as important.
If you are a praying person, please continue to include Madi and her entire family in your prayers. They are being felt and very much appreciated.
We love you all!
With deep gratitude,
Lauren
UPDATES
June 13, 2025. I, and our entire family and Younger families are extremely blown away by the support. I can’t stop crying thinking about the support, check ins, connections, and donations they have received as well as the emotional support to the entire family. Thank you so much and may you all be blessed each day!
In the evening Madi (and Jen) were transported by helicopter to Nicklaus Children’s in Miami. Adam drove their car and stuff down. Madi remains monitored with more test results pending, EEG being run and monitoring continuing.
June 14. Madi’s brothers, Brady and Griffin, arrived in Miami to see their parents for the first time since June 3rd when Jen left the cruise with Madi or June 4th when Adam left from Nassau to fly back to Florida. The boys will not be able to go see Madi, but the time with the 4 of them is much needed. I know many have asked about the boys. The boys remained on the cruise (everyone’s 1st Disney cruise) with me, my 3 kids, my parents, Scott and Mary Jane, and my sister, Megan. We tried to make it as much of a good time as possible.
She has shown improvements each day since coming off the ventilator late on June 11th so her little body is still weaning from a lot of drugs. Seizures seem under control with medicine but no answers yet.
I will try to briefly update when I can, but please pray for her, her family and the providers who are treating her!
