Hello! My name is McKenzie, I am Madelyn's older sister, and I am organizing this fundraiser to help cover her expenses while she is fighting cancer. In 2023, Madelyn graduated high school and moved to Illinois for college with the goal of becoming one of the first college graduates of her immediate family and to make our late mother proud.

On September 27, 2023, I received a call from Madelyn's best friend and roommate Louise that Madelyn was taken to the emergency room for severe abdominal pain. While in the hospital they found a large mass on one of Madelyn's ovaries. At that time, we were unsure if it was cancer, but after surgery the mass was biopsied and came back positive for two different types of ovarian cancer. Madelyn was diagnosed with stage one Rhabdomyosarcoma and Sertoli-Leydig cancer. Since her diagnosis she has undergone multiple surgeries including a radical hysterectomy at just 18 years old. She is currently treating both cancers with two aggressive forms of chemotherapy, leaving her unable to work and complete day to day task as she normally would. While Madelyn has lots of love and support from her family and friends, we would appreciate any extra help that may be provided by this fundraiser to help cover any medical expenses and household bills. Madelyn's ultimate goal is to get back to being the fun, loving, education-driven young woman that she has always been.
