Help Madeline With Medical Expenses

Anyone who knows Madeline Mitchell will instantly think of her contagious smile and sense of humor, her love for her friends and family (including beloved dogs Solomon and Gizmo and horse Cassie), and her deep commitment to her profession of veterinary medicine. As a third-year student at the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine, she is over halfway finished obtaining her DVM and plans to pursue a career with the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service as a veterinary medical officer, both within the US and internationally.
What you may not know is that she is that she is also battling a recurrence of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a type of cancer that originates in the lymphatic system.
Madeline was first diagnosed as an undergraduate student at NC A&T State University in 2015. After a difficult period of treatment including extensive surgery and chemotherapy, she and everyone who loves her were thrilled to learn that she was in remission. She entered vet school full of excitement and dedication and has done very well, serving as an officer in the Internal Medicine and Small Ruminant clubs as well as maintaining part-time employment as an animal attendant in the Equine and Large Animal Hospital at the CVM.
Unfortunately, in the fall of 2018, her medical team determined that the cancer had returned and she reinitiated a challenging treatment regimen while continuing to be enrolled as a full-time student.
Of course, as frequently happens, Madeline's health insurance falls short of covering all of her medical costs - a fact that is made even more difficult when you know that as a typical vet student, she is living on a limited budget funded by her student loans.
The medical expenses for her continued care can take a toll during an already stressful time. One way to help is to relieve the worries of any financial strain so that Madeline can put all her energy and focus into her recovery and her education.
Please join us in making a donation towards these expenses and show Madeline how much we love and support her.
