Help Maddie Start Her Sanctuary
Hi everyone! My name is Maddie and my life's mission is to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned animals. I have rescued 100+ animals and for those of you that have followed me for years, you know my ultimate goal has always been to have a farm sanctuary of my own. I have fundraised for many sanctuaries in the past.....hoping to one day have an official Farmily Farm Sanctuary of our own!

Well....it's finally happened! We now have beautiful 26 acres of land in Moraga, CA to save SO. MANY. ANIMALS. The best part is that the sanctuary is only 20 minutes from my house. That means we get to stay exactly where we are (I'll continue to rescue, foster, rehabilitate, and adopt out animals here at home) while ALSO managing our sanctuary and all the developments on the property.
We're starting with a complete blank slate. There is nothing on the property. We will need to build all the fencing, run-in shelters, a barn, etc. The property just officially closed and we are already hitting the ground running.
Next month, my friend Emma and I are going on a cross-country rescue road trip and will be bringing home the first residents at the sanctuary (stay tuned for that!) And this time (....hold the applause) we AREN'T taking the Lexus! I'm going to invest in a used stock trailer for all my future rescue operations. *Cue the applause!* The Lexus has dealt with a lot over the years (a baby cow, six pigs at a time, goats, lambs, a rooster, ducks, you name it...the Lexus has transported it). Finally, with the help of a stock trailer, I'll be able to rescue and transport larger animals like cows, horses, and commercial sized livestock pigs. Having a large stock trailer parked at the sanctuary will also be necessary in case of a fire evacuation (living in California, you have to think this way).

The other big expense is that we'll need 400 feet of livestock grade fencing so that we'll have a large, safe area to keep the animals and fencing is expennnnnsive. Important, but 'spensive. After spending a couple weeks going back and forth with various vendors, I found a great deal on 3-rail vinyl horse fencing. To save costs, we are going to install it ourselves. Volunteer day anyone?! Haha kidding but also serious.
I can't believe the day is finally here. WE HAVE A SANCTUARY, GUYS. I feel overwhelmed with gratitude. There's a tremendous amount of work to do to get this place running. Every dollar helps. I promise to take you all along for the journey and I can't wait to show you how the property develops.
We have 30 days to get fencing up and purchase a stock trailer before we leave on our rescue road trip! We have our work cut out for us but I know that with your help, this is 100% possible. :) LETS DO THIS!
