Help Maddie Recover and Get Back on Her Feet

Donation protected
Our dear friend Madeline Hart is the young pedestrian involved in the horrific hit and run in Seymour on December 21st. She sustained severe facial injuries including fractured jaw , loss of teeth, lacerations to eye and mouth, a concussion as well as a severed artery to her left kidney causing internal bleeding. She is also covered in bruises from head to toe and in extreme pain. As for her family and friends , we are definitely counting our blessings and so very grateful she survived. She is stable in hospital but has the road to recovery ahead. The reason Maddie was walking is due to a week prior the engine blew in her little mini cooper car that she loved dearly. Maddie works 2 part time jobs and is a full time freshman college commuter student. In addition to loosing her transportation and nearly her life all in one week, the reality is she now faces loss of wages while not able to work - which in turn will push replacing her wheels even further off. Madeline is a beautiful and strong young lady who is no stranger to trauma. Her mom, Jessica Watson moved her to CT from NJ because of the devastation from Hurricane Sandy. Shortly after arriving Maddie was a kindergartener at Sandy Hook Elementary School when the unimaginable deadly massacre occurred …and now this ! Being raised by a single mom she has never tasted a silver spoon, both Mom and Maddie have worked so very hard for everything in life despite all the adversity they have faced. Our goal is to raise a modest amount of funds , enough for Maddie to purchase a decent used vehicle so she can rest easy and recover without financial worries. It would be so wonderful for local communities to pull together providing her a hand up after this tragic event with the means for her return to work and school. Let’s make a Christmas miracle come true for Maddie by relieving the additional stress of her scraping up for a vehicle. ( never mind the medical bills ) Our hope in this season of giving is people can find it in their hearts to help and any amount is truly appreciated. Let’s shine some light at the end of this tunnel , ease her mind so she can focus on her physical and mental health . PTSD is no joke . It is hard for anyone to understand WHY bad things happen to good people. WHY someone would leave her injured on the side of the road . Truly heartbreaking. They may never find out who did this and if they do chances are they don’t have insurance, we will cross that bridge down the road if or when but right now - Maddie doesn’t have time to wait for what ifs, she wants to get back on track and will need a car for work and school as soon as she is well. I would also like to share that Maddie is studying Psychology so that she can pay it forward and help children who have experienced trauma in their lives. Please send prayers for her complete and full healing and pitch in if you are able. Feel free to share the go fund me link also . Be the Light ! Thank you , BFFs Barbie G and Stevie Rain.
