The apartment next door to Maddie and Mimi caught on fire today, Friday, 6/13. The cause is still unknown. Luckily, some wonderful man helped Mimi escape through a window since the front door was engulfed in flames and smoke was pouring in. Maddie wasn't home at the time. Fortunately, everyone including their cats Prince and Max are safe.

Unfortunately, as you can imagine, this is a very chaotic and destabilizing situation, and they are already starting to incur a variety of unplanned for costs. There is major smoke damage, and they are not allowed to stay there for (at least) two days.

Any donations received will help them with hotels, food, lost wages from time taken off work, and whatever else comes up in the next period. This is very much an unfolding story, having just happened this afternoon.
