My name is Suzanne, and I’m raising funds to help pay for Maddie’s open heart surgery.

Maddie has been by my side since 2014, along with her brother, Judd. I served in the military for 8.5 years, and left after being diagnosed with PTSD .

Maddie is a Blue Heeler, whose breed attaches like a magnet to their handler. Maddie has been trained as my service animal because she is so attached to me, she senses my emotions and is able to sense my panic attacks and interrupt them before they occur. She is the best friend and best therapy I could ask for.

In October 2025, Maddie was diagnosed with Severe degenerative valve disease, stage C and is currently in Heart Failure with severe Mitral Valve Regurgitation and Severe Left Heart Enlargement.

Maddie is scheduled for open heart surgery (mitral valve repair) at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals on March 23, 2026. While my husband and I have already paid for her surgery out of pocket, multiple kind-hearted people have requested to donate to her surgery.
