Hi friends!

My name is Maddie Bell and I have the amazing opportunity to to work for Congressman Steve Cohen who represents the 9th district of Tennessee this summer in Washington D.C. I am a political science and broadcast journalism major at the University of Tennessee and working in DC has been a dream of mine since elementary school.

I have been graciously awarded free housing by The Baker School at George Washington University! I am so grateful for their help financially and professionally through this application process.

While I get a stipend from the congressional office, it is not quite enough to cover all of the costs for the summer. I will still need money for food and transportation. I am unable to pick up a second job while I am up there because I will also be taking nine credit hours virtually from the University of Tennessee and working full-time hours for the congressman.
