Help Maddie Beat Breast Cancer!
My name is Arianne Renforth. I am creating this gofundme page for my amazing sister-in-law, Maddie.
Maddie was recently diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast cancer at just 23 years old. For those who don't know, this type of breast cancer is highly aggressive and rare. Being a rare cancer sub-type, it doesn’t have specific targeted medications to treat it that other breast cancers might have. Due to this, in two weeks Maddie's doctors will have her on the most aggressive form of chemo infamously known as the ‘Red Devil’ to get ahead of the disease. Her chemo treatment plan should be around 5 months, followed by a double mastectomy.
Being only 23 years old, this has obviously come as a jarring blow to an otherwise healthy, and happy young woman. After getting knowledge of her diagnosis, Maddie and her long term boyfriend (my brother) immediately became newlyweds on the Monday following the Friday of her diagnosis.
Maddie is one of the kindest and gentle souls I have ever known. I knew within minutes of meeting her that my brother would marry her. Anyone who has met Maddie knows what a wonderful and compassionate human being she is.
She is a Marketing major at Oklahoma State University & currently works at Trader Joe's as a crew member. Although she does have Family Medical Leave and Short Term Disability, she will of course not be able to work a significant amount of hours that she might otherwise due to the debilitating side effects of her Chemotherapy. This, coupled with the fact that her chemotherapy will wreak havoc on her White Blood cell count, her immune system will be heavily suppressed. It is no surprise that super markets are an environment full of germs, and Thomas doesn’t want her to take any chances becoming sick in such a fragile, immunocompromised state. Chemotherapy patients catching a cold, or any sort of other bug can have a far more difficult time fighting off an infection than an otherwise healthy person could.
Maddie would never ask for financial help, so I created this to give folks a chance to support her during this difficult time. Donations raised will alleviate financial stress so she can focus on healing without any worry over missed income. Maddie and my brother need all of the encouragement and support they can get!
Please consider helping these young newlyweds and Maddie's journey to being healthy and cancer free!
I will post any updates I receive on this page so you can track Maddie's journey to kicking cancer's butt!
Thank you for any donations.
Sincerely,
Arianne
