This is an appeal on behalf of my daughter, Maddi, one of the most compassionate, resilient, and hardest working people I know.
Maddi overcame the death of her father at the age of 5, and despite facing much adversity, she immersed herself in academics, began working in middle school, created multiple volunteer and fundraising groups for local animal shelters and wildlife sanctuaries, and continued to work full time while maintaining a full university schedule, ultimately graduating a year early with highest honors. Within three years of graduating, Maddi became a loving mother to two sons, excelling in both her personal and professional life.
This December, she achieved her dream of purchasing her first home for her family. However, 4 days before Christmas, the joyous occasion turned into a nightmare as her new home was burglarized, robbing her of life's savings, which had been meticulously saved in a lockbox for her first mortgage payment, an impending roof repair, and several other expenses. Instead of unpacking and basking in having achieved her biggest goal, Maddi spent the first night in her new home with a slew of police officers, who virtually assured her that despite their own frustrations, she would never see her money again.
Undeterred, Maddi surprised her boys with their new home on Christmas Eve, concealing the hardships she faced, and created a warm and loving holiday for her family. Yet, the challenges persisted when she discovered that her appliances - supposedly less than five years old - were severely outdated and non-functional, resulting in even more unexpected expenses.
Everything Maddi has achieved in life has been through her hard work and personal sacrifice. She has started GoFundMe accounts for several other people in the past when they had endured personal and financial trauma, donating money, emotional support, and countless hours of her time.
Now burdened with unforeseen financial strains and forced to accumulate debt, Maddi, who has always been a selfless giver, is in need of support.
If you can contribute to her GoFundMe, your help will not only be deeply appreciated but will also enable her to continue her journey of resilience and kindness, paying forward the assistance to others in need.
*FOR THEIR OWN PEACE OF MIND, THE BOYS DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THE BURGLARY - PLEASE KEEP IT THIS WAY!*
With deepest gratitude,
Nonna
