Hi all, my name is Lucy and I’m the owner of the sweet elderly cat named Macy that you see in the photo.

On the afternoon of the 28th of December Macy was doing his usual sunbathing on our front steps when a fight broke out next door. The two people involved ran into the street in front of our house throwing glass bottles around. This terrified Macy, as the smashing started he ran from our house (he has never even left our property) and into traffic. He was immediately hit and dragged himself back to my lawn where I scooped him up and took him to emergency.

He has fractured his spine, hip and pelvis, with his spine being the main concern. Stabilisation, x-rays and other medical bills have been paid at a total of $5100, with his upcoming surgery being between $6-7000 on top of that. I cannot and will not give up on him, not until his quality of life is impacted which as of yet isn’t on the cards. With surgery he is expected to make a near full recovery.

I will be selling art, clothes and slinging tattoos like my cats life depends on it in the next coming months. I can’t express how much of a positive impact this baby has on my everyday life and mental health. He’s my sleeping buddy, showering buddy, eating buddy and I wouldn’t ask to be attached to the hip with anyone or anything else. I’m doing all I physically can to make money, but unfortunately it just isn’t enough.

I wish it didn’t have to come to this point but absolutely any amount of money will be a blessing to go towards Macy’s spinal reconstruction.
