Help Mackenzie through her Chronic Illness Journey

This is Mackenzie’s story. I’m writing this to hopefully create some relief and reduce stress for my dear friend. She is a wonderful, loving, giving, caring person who needs a break! She has always been a healthy go-getter, a full-time mom with a full-time job. Doing great things, but for the last 3 years, she has struggled tremendously. It started with having her gallbladder removed and since then, everything has gone downhill. She has received a diagnosis of gastroparesis, POTS - Postural Orthostatic Syndrome, IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome, pre-syncope which causes fainting, and many more side effects that come along with all of these chronic illnesses. She vomits on a daily basis, still navigating exactly what she can and cannot eat on certain days, and has had to adjust her daily life due to not being able to keep up! It’s mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially exhausting. This unexpected slew of illnesses has really put a huge burden on Mackenzie.

Our goal is to get her to The Cleveland Clinic, she has had online appointments with doctors there, but no in-person full workup, which is needed. With this comes out-of-pocket travel and stay expenses, tons of bills that insurance doesn’t cover and many days of work missed. She already has had to miss lots of work and important moments for doctor's appointments and days where her body won’t allow her to do her daily tasks. They won’t ever say it, but they need help! Medical bills and cost of medicine are a constant! Her & the family are doing their best maneuvering this new lifestyle, but sometimes it takes a village. Anything helps!
