Mack is a kind and generous person who has always found ways to give back to his community. Living with a disability, he relies on his bicycle as his main form of transportation and independence. After saving for over a year, Mack was finally able to purchase a new bike, which quickly became a source of pride and freedom for him. Sadly, his new bike and all his gear were stolen a couple weeks ago. The family filed a police report and hoped it would be found and returned, but that doesn’t seem likely. As someone on a very limited income, replacing the bike and gear is simply out of reach for Mack and our family right now.
Mack’s bike is so much more than just a way to get around. It allows him to go to the gym for guided workouts that have made a real difference in his health, especially in managing his scoliosis. He enjoys his daily routine of visiting local coffee shops, where he’s built a network of friends and supports local businesses. Mack is always eager to help others—he volunteers at a bike shop, delivers posters for local businesses, and participates in community clean-up projects. Despite facing challenges and even bullying, he continues to show kindness and resilience. The loss of his bike has not only taken away his independence, but also shaken his sense of safety in the community he loves.
Today is Mack’s birthday, and I thought starting a fundraiser and sharing his story might encourage him and help get him back on track. We understand that times are tough for everyone, and any support would be greatly appreciated—whether it’s a donation, a birthday wish, or a kind message for Mack. Every little bit helps, and it would mean the world to Mack and our family to get him back to doing what he loves and giving back to the community that means so much to him.
