My name is Gisèle and the love of my life is named Mace. He is a four-year-old chocolate Labrador, and my whole world. When Mace was 9 months old, he was hit with a golf cart on his rear left side. Initial x-rays did not show any fractures or breaks, but over the years, he started to limp. This got worse and worse until he was essentially unable to bear any weight on the leg. With specialized veterinary care being so expensive, it took a lot to even get a diagnosis, but we now know that Mace has a torn CCL that requires corrective surgery. The surgeon expects that the golf cart accident resulted in a micro tear that was not detected at the time, and got worse until it eventually tore completely. The person who hit him is unable to help, and I do not have the money. As many of you know, Mace just recently underwent a $2000 surgery to remove a cancerous tumor on his head, which coincided with me losing my job. My kids have already contributed as much as they can, and we are at a loss. I am hoping to fund raise the $6200 required for this surgery.
