Hi friends, family, and anyone looking to help those impacted by the Palisades fire. My name is Naomi. Maca and Justin, two of my dearest friends for over a decade, have been affected by the Palisades fire. From countless hours together in DC, to sharing adventures across the country, to spending endless hours and days at their beautiful Palisades apartment home, these two have become by chosen family. Recently, I had the honor of becoming Maca’s bridesmaid. Now, they need our help, and I'm reaching out to ask for your support in their time of need.

In the blink of an eye, life can take an unexpected turn. This is the harsh reality that has befallen two incredible souls, Maca and Justin—kind-hearted, vibrant, and welcoming individuals who have tragically lost everything in the devastating Palisades Fire. Eight years ago, their paths crossed in DC. Justin fell for Maca before she even knew who he was. Fast forward to January 2020, they decided to embark on a new chapter in sunny LA, chasing their dreams by the beach, surrounded by the nature they adore. After overcoming delays due to Covid, they finally moved into their dream apartment in Pacific Palisades in March 2022, embracing the life they had envisioned.

Maca, a dedicated licensed therapist, worked tirelessly to earn her California License, while Justin pursued his entrepreneurial dreams in the tech and music industry. Together, they built a beautiful life, deeply rooted in their communities. From volunteering in the DC music scene and supporting the Burning Man community to offering indescribable warmth and belonging through their "mi casa es su casa" ethos, they've touched countless lives.

In June 2024, their love story took a romantic turn as Justin proposed to Maca, a testament to their unwavering bond and shared dreams. Just months later, with less than an hour's notice, the Palisades Fire forced them to flee, leaving behind everything they've worked so hard for—home, car, belongings, memories—everything gone.

Today, we reach out to you to support Maca and Justin in rebuilding their lives. They have given so much to each community they've been a part of; now, it's our turn to give back to them.
