We are asking for help during one of the hardest moments we've faced with our sweet boy, Mac.

Just days ago, Mac was enjoying his favorite things — sunbathing in the yard, chasing squirrels, and exploring the world with endless curiosity. He loves to observe everything: what people are doing, how things work, and every sound or movement in nature. When Mac is happy… he doesn't just wag his tail — he wags his whole body. He starts with his head, with a slow exaggerated movement to the left then right. If you've ever met him, you've felt that joy.

On Halloween Night, we rushed Mac to the ER. Since then, we've been to the ER twice and were referred to a neurologist. Mac was diagnosed with early IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease), a spinal condition that can cause him to lose the ability to walk. The MRI showed that he had a spinal disc herniation, multiple nerve compressions, and blood hemorrhaging contributing to spinal compression. Within hours, our affectionate, curious, smart boy went from exploring the outdoors to struggling to stand and crying in pain. The emergency neurologist told us that immediate spinal surgery was Mac's best chance at alleviating pain and returning to full mobility — and without it, he faced permanent paralysis.

We didn't hesitate. Mac is family — he is our child.

The total cost for his emergency surgery, hospitalization, MRI, and post-op care came to $12,000. We were able to cover $9,000, but we are still short $3,000. We are humbly asking for help to close that gap.
