Help Mac Stephens Sr. Rebuild After Flood

Hello. My name is April N. Stephens and I am the daughter of Mac Stephens Sr. On the night of August 8, 2024, my elderly father's home was severely damaged by water like it was more than 10 years ago. At that time, there was the same type of flooding in the streets that the City of Akron officials said was caused by a new sewer system, and the water was channeled to come to dad's property.

Consequently, his basement filled up with 6 feet of water and his driveway was destroyed. In addition, his neighbor's rear basement wall collapsed, who lives one house away from him, and her basement was filled with water. At that time, a city representative apologized and said they would restore his driveway and fix everything before it happens again. This never happened.

I emailed and called the Mayor's office on 8/9/24 to report dad's property damage caused by the sewer overflowing with water. I also have spoken to various departments trying my best to resolve this safety and health hazard for my father. I am disheartened to say it is over 30 days and my father's property still has 5-6 feet of mud, trash, and debris in it. It needs the rear wall rebuilt, cleanup, HEPA, mold remediation, and appliances replaced. Liberty Mutual has denied the claim because they consider it "An act of GOD".

This event happening again has caused my father many sleepless nights and stressful days. He wants to get back into his home that he has worked so hard for. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this request to get funds to restore my father's home.
