If you know Mac, he's that brown blur as he sprints past. He loves nothing more than running fast and long up all the hills and stalking his birds. Running is his life.
On February 25, Mac got out of the house before Faith could get him leashed and did what Mac does best: he ran. Unfortunately, he headed for the road and didn’t look both ways before crossing. He was hit by a car, breaking one back leg, dislocating the other hip, and needing stitches in numerous places.
Since the accident, Faith has had to take Mac to the vet multiple times a week for wound care and debridement. He’ll also need two surgeries in the next couple months to repair his dislocated hip and to set the break in his other leg.
At 81 years old and on a fixed income, Faith isn’t able to keep up with the mounting vet bills for her beloved boy.
We’re asking for help to lessen Faith’s financial burden so she can focus on caring for Mac and herself through this difficult period.
