Help Mac Fight Cancer – Give Him a Second Chance at Life

Hi everyone, my name is Savannah, and I’m reaching out for help for my best friend, Mac.

I rescued Mac when he was just two months old from the Humane Society, and from that moment on, he became the center of my world. For the past 6 ½ years, we’ve been inseparable—through every high and low, every adventure, every cuddle on the couch. He is more than just a pet; he’s my family, my rock, my soul dog.

Recently, our world was turned upside down when Mac was diagnosed with anal sac adenocarcinoma, an aggressive form of cancer. It was a complete shock, as he showed no signs of being sick. We discovered a mass during a routine check-up, and after immediate surgery to remove it, we received devastating news—the cancer had extremely narrow margins, meaning there’s a high chance it could grow back or spread. Without treatment, Mac may only have about a year left before the cancer returns and spreads. With treatment, we have a chance to give him more happy, healthy years by our side. Right now, he’s still full of life—playing, wagging his tail, and being his happy, loving self. I want to do everything I can to keep him that way for as long as possible.

We’ve already spent $6,000 on his surgery, which was a necessary first step, but now he needs radiation and possibly chemotherapy to give him the best chance at a longer, happy life. Unfortunately, these treatments are expensive, and despite doing everything we can, we simply cannot afford them on our own. The estimated cost for radiation alone is $8,000, and additional treatments like chemotherapy could bring the total even higher.

I never thought I would be in a position to ask for help like this, but I refuse to give up on Mac. He’s still full of life—playing, wagging his tail, and being the sweet, loving dog he’s always been. He deserves a fighting chance, and I am willing to do whatever it takes to give him that.
