All proceeds from this Go Fund Me will go to Amal from Amal’s Market and Delhi located at 1416 Haight Street.  

Amal was the recent victim of not one but two burglaries where thousands of dollars in damages, stolen funds and merchandise were taken. While Amal is usually the one that takes care of the neighborhood, now it’s time that we take care of her.

Amal is well known in the Upper Haight and truly has a heart of gold.  She has been feeding the Upper Haight for years with her healthy home cooked food.  I can tell you from experience that it's made with compassion and love in every dish.  Over the years, everyone in the neighborhood from the unhoused, housed, tourists and those who work in the Haight have developed positive, friendly relationships with her.  Her nickname is Ma for good reason, she literally takes care of everyone and treats all who come into her establishment with dignity and respect.

Amal is an Immigrant from Lebanon who helped bring over a large portion of her family to America.  She works 7 days a week in support of not just her immediate family but the entire neighborhood.  During the pandemic, she helped so many by making sure those who came into her store never went without.  She truly brings the community together and is an Upper Haight treasure.   She constantly puts everyone from the community before herself and lives what the Haight Ashbury defined itself as for so many years, love and respect.

Please consider donating funds to this Go Fund Me account. Amal’s has been closed for several months due to forced renovations (retrofitting) leaving her without an income. Adding additional hardships were two burglaries that occurred with thousands in losses,
