Help Lyrah Fight FIP: Urgent Treatment Needed
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Angel and my sweet rescue baby Lyrah is suspected of having a disease called FIP, or Feline Infectious Peritonitis. For those who don’t know, FIP is a severe and fatal disease that targets cats and kittens under two years of age, and without treatment, there is zero chance for life. Treatment is an aggressive, expensive, and extremely long process.
I found out she was suspected of having FIP two days ago, 03/10/2025, when I took her to the vet for difficulty breathing and lethargy. After radiology and a routine checkup, the veterinarian told me that she has pleural effusion, as well as a high fever at 104.2°. Pleural effusion is an accumulation of fluid buildup between her lungs and chest cavity, making it hard for her to breathe. FIP at this stage quickly worsens, and she needs to start treatment as soon as possible.
I would be beyond grateful for donations at all. I’m a student living on my own, so affording treatment is difficult for me in my current situation. All donations will be going to paying off vet bills, which after radiology and bloodwork have already gone up to $706. Treatment is estimated to be around this cost as well.
I have hope that my little kitty can stay strong and overcome this disease. She’s a sweet cat who deserves a shot at life. I will do everything I can to make sure that she gets the best care possible.
Thank you.
