Let me start by saying, this is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Life has been handing us one blow after another, and this is my last resort.

In January, Darryl slipped and fell on ice, hitting his head on the pavement. His neck immediately started swelling, and he was in severe pain. We went to minor emergency where they performed two CTs on him. They were concerning, so he was sent to a neurologist, who then had MRIs performed. The results alarmed the doctor, who immediately put him in a neck brace and scheduled surgery. He stated that if Darryl was to hit his head or get rear-ended, he could be paralyzed. Surgery time came, and his overnight stay ended up being nine days in the hospital, with complication after complication.

The same week we saw the neurologist, his car broke down, and mine has reached 100,000 miles. Both cars need work done on them. I use my car to DoorDash, but I have to be careful as I need tires and transmission work done.

Darryl has been out of work since the beginning of March, with no pay. He won't be able to return for at least another four weeks, if not longer. Normally, he would do DoorDash to help pay some of the smaller bills or to take care of the dogs' needs, but he is unable to drive at the moment.

Our dogs are all behind on vaccines, and Bear and Keely's prescriptions have expired. Bear and Keely are both on a prescription diet for bladder stones (Bear) and kidney disease (Keely). Bear is also on seizure medication, which he desperately needs. The vaccines are not the issue; it's the vet visit that they need to get new prescriptions. My babies are my life, and it's stressful knowing I'm unable to take care of them like they are used to.

To say we are stressed is an understatement. We are both struggling with depression. It's so hard to put that smile on daily at work when all I want to do is crawl in a hole and cry.

We are asking for enough to get caught up on some bills and to take care of our babies and the cars. Anything will help, even if it's just a prayer.
