Help My Mom Fight Stage 4 Colon Cancer

Hi, I’m Ashley, and I’m reaching out for help as my mom, Erma (Lynette), bravely battles stage 4 colon cancer. I’m her only child, and she now lives with me as we navigate this incredibly tough journey together.

On February 14th, I visited my mom and immediately knew something wasn’t right. She had lost a lot of weight, looked weak, and wasn’t her usual self. She told me she had been feeling exhausted, had no appetite, and was experiencing painful stomach cramps. I rushed her to the ER, where after numerous tests and scans, a 9cm mass was found in her colon. Then we received the devastating diagnosis—stage 4 colon cancer that had already spread.

She underwent major surgery, including a colon resection, full hysterectomy, and placement of a chemo port. She now has an ostomy bag for the rest of her life. The recovery has been incredibly difficult, and we are still processing all these life-changing adjustments.

We’ve already had three hospital stays, and since Tuesday, she has been back in the hospital facing complications. The ups and downs of this disease have been overwhelming, and we are taking things day by day, hoping for stability and healing.

The medical bills are piling up, and as her sole caregiver, I’m doing everything I can to ensure she gets the care and love she needs. We are managing the financial challenges that come with her treatment and recovery, and your support would ease the burden as we continue this fight.
