Help Lynda Rebuild Her Beloved Home

Donation protected
Our grandparents first purchased their little home on a Redington Beach inlet 30 years ago, and since then, it has remained an integral part of our family. Last night, hurricane Helena came through the Tampa Bay area, and left destruction that no one could have anticipated.

This house has remained the sole consistency amongst all the seasons of our lives. It’s the house of slumber parties and crafting, movie nights and redneck fishing, Easter egg hunts, driveway concerts and everything in between. It’s the house that holds all of our memories; some of which were so material and tangible that they can no longer be salvaged.

Our grandma is the most selfless person I know. She has always been the first to lend a hand, offer a meal, or provide a shoulder to lean on whenever someone was in need. Despite her own struggles, she’s never been one to ask for help or handouts. However, the devastation of this storm is far past the point of a one-man job, and brings a sense of grief to not only our family, but those who have visited and experienced the magic of this beautiful home.

The insurance coverage does not apply to the contents of the home, only the structure itself, and therefore Lynda has lost nearly all her belongings. The flooding rose up to the door knobs, and fully enveloped all beds, couches, appliances, and remaining furniture in water and sewage.

The home is no longer livable— there is no electricity, no where to sleep, and no car to drive.
We’re setting a goal of raising $20,000 to help my grandma rebuild and refurnish her home, and restore some normalcy to her life. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference and will go directly towards replacing all necessities lost to our grandma in the flood. If you are unable to donate, we completely understand, but we would be so grateful if you could share this page with others. Your prayers, well-wishes, and support mean the world to us during this time.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity, love, and compassion.

With the deepest gratitude,
The Meador grandchildren
