An urgent plea for help from all of Lynda’s family and friends,

Lynda is a loving mother and compassionate friend with a heart of gold. She will always be there for others in need and we are reaching out today in need to ask for your help to save Lynda. She has been battling cancer since 2017 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and has been in remission continuing to beat this aggressive disease but recently we got the news that we need to suit up and continue to fight this battle. Lynda is now battling stage four breast cancer that has metastasized and is spreading quickly. After several oncology appointments here in Winnipeg she is diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer that her doctors here in Canada say there is no hope to cure with regular chemotherapy and radiation, it would only prolong the evident by a few weeks but we’re here keeping the hope high raising money for her to travel to a specialized cancer center in Arizona and get life saving treatment in the USA that they simply do not offer here in Canada. The doctors at the center are very optimistic with their treatment plan and eager to get it started.

Unfortunately, this treatment is extremely expensive and not covered by insurance because she will have to travel to a specialized cancer center in the USA. The care plan costs are approximately $15,000 USD weekly, due upfront each week. Which is a sum that’s impossible for our family to afford on our own. She will have to pay out of pocket for all the scans, tests, treatments and to have a port put in for a specialized chemotherapy treatment that is coupled with IPT therapy to target cancer cells. There are over 25 types of specialized medical treatments at this cancer center that her doctors are utilizing to make a custom treatment plan for Lynda such as whole body hypothermia, EBOO, ultra violet blood irradiation etc. Anyone who has had the pleasure of knowing my mother knows what a beautiful soul she is and how full of life she is, and to see her go through this has taken a toll on all of us. The most stressful factor, being able to afford the treatment to save her. So we are reaching out to you in desperate times to ask for help with these costs.

Lynda’s biggest hope is to continue her treatments without the constant fear of how to pay for them. No family should have to choose between bills, groceries and rent or cancer treatment. We are asking for your help to raise urgent funds to give Lynda a chance to save her life and continue to be the light that we all know she is in our lives.

Over the coming days, weeks, and months there will be many decisions to be made. However what’s immediately clear is the urgent need for financial stability so Lynda can focus 100% on healing—without the pressure of life stacking up, rent, and medical-related costs. As a retired member of the community, there are no sick days, medical insurance, or other benefits extended to Lynda during emergencies like this. Making it an urgent plea for help so Lynda can start her treatments. We have started out with setting goal to cover the immediate first few weeks out of a 7 week care plan to help alleviate that pressure and show the positive support we can extend to Lynda to keep her hopeful.
