Greetings,
I am starting this gofundme for my sister, Lynda. She would never ask for help herself, so I’ve taken it upon myself to send this out to all her friends and family.
A few years ago, Lynda was diagnosed with breast cancer. She immediately gathered her wits, educated herself on how to get her body and mind through the chemotherapy process in the healthiest and most positive way possible. All the while keeping her small business’s running and handling all of her daily affairs on her own. And I will say, she fought hard to kick the cancers ass. F@&K CANCER!!! Now we are here at the reconstruction phase, which is often one of the most difficult parts of breast cancer recovery, both physically and emotionally. She is scheduled for reconstructive breast surgery coming up in a few weeks. This procedure is not cosmetic, it is to repair the damage left from the mass they removed that took a large portion of her breast in the process. This will finally help restore what cancer took and help her feel whole again. The cost of this type of surgery is absolutely ridiculous. Don’t get me started with what a robbery our heath care system is. Anyway….
The out-of-pocket medical costs with the deductible even after insurance are disheartening. Added to that, the loss of income from not being physically able to fulfill her normal work routine. So I am setting this fundraiser goal at an amount that I feel would help take some of the financial pressure off so she can focus on healing and recovery. If you are able to help with any amount, I know she would be incredibly grateful. She is not one to ask for assistance in this regard, but she is a very generous and giving person, a trait we both inherited from our mother. If you can’t donate, sharing this would mean just as much. Thank you for supporting my sister and helping her finally finish this chapter of her breast cancer journey.
Sincerely, Jess
