Help Lynda Butterworth Recover and Get Back on Her Feet

I'm reaching out on behalf of our dear friend, Lynda Butterworth. Many of you may know Lynda for her warm spirit, her beautiful handmade jewelry from her small business, Parrot Jewellery, and her unwavering dedication to our community here in Yarmouth. Originally from Paynesville, Victoria in Australia, Lynda has been a beloved member of the Yarmouth community for over 20 years.
Lynda currently works as a cook at Lil' Jems Early Learning Childcare Centre, where she is a valued team member. Her employers think so highly of her that they’ve assured her that her job will be waiting for her once she recovers. Beyond her work, Lynda has made a lasting impact through her volunteer efforts. She’s the Secretary of the Yarmouth Art Society and a Board Member of the Friends of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia (AGNS). Lynda also played a major role in the Lobster Calendar campaign with the Lobster Association in 2006, helping to raise $110,000 for the Cancer Centre at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. She dedicates her time to supporting seniors and children, always going out of her way to bring people together.
On October 18, 2024, Lynda was involved in a serious car accident while returning home from town, resulting in a severe fracture just above her left ankle. She was taken to Kentville Hospital for surgery, and it is expected to take about six months for her to fully recover. During this time, she won’t be able to work or take on her usual side jobs to supplement her income.
Lynda lives alone and although she is blessed with wonderful friends, especially the couple she rents from, who are helping her in every way they can. However, despite their support and the kindness of many friends, it still falls short of covering the financial burden this accident has placed on her.
We are aiming to raise $10,000 to help Lynda meet essential needs, including rent, utilities, groceries, and any additional support aids necessary to assist with her daily life and mobility. Your support will allow her to focus on healing without the added stress of financial concerns.
Lynda has spent years giving so much of herself to her friends and our community, and now she needs our support. Any amount you can give, big or small, would make a meaningful difference in helping her get through this challenging time.
Please donate if you’re able and share this campaign to help spread the word. Let’s rally together to support Lynda, showing her just how much she means to us all. Thank you for your generosity and kindness.
