Another Update:
Lynda continues to wage her brave fight against cancer. She had surgery and completed radiation. Unfortunately, the cancer isn’t gone quite yet. Last week, she started the first of 14 additional rounds of chemotherapy. This time, she will receive two medicines instead of four, so she hopes to return to work at least part-time by May. Until then, she could really use some additional financial help. We are so grateful for the incredibly generous support our colleagues have already shared, and would appreciate any additional gifts you may choose to contribute at this time.
UPDATE:
Lynda needs our help! Her FMLA leave is over and she will now be responsible for paying the cost of her COBRA premium until she can return to work. That is $1,058.54 per month, beginning November 1st. Our NEW goal for this fundraiser is $11,000, to get her enough for three months of the COBRA payments.
We appreciate your support as she gets through one last round of chemo before surgery!
Initial Description:
Our beloved colleague Lynda Williams begins her battle against stage 3 breast cancer next week. She faces months of chemotherapy before surgery this fall.
Please help us fund her maximum out-of-pocket expenses for the year under our new health plan ($7,600) so that she can focus on her treatment and recovery.
For those of you who do not have the pleasure of working alongside Lynda, here’s a little bit about her:
Lynda began working in our Austin office nine years ago. She was a fantastic legal assistant before joining the tax team as a paralegal, where she continues to shine. She is so compassionate and devoted to our clients, and always glad to help out however she can. Fun fact: she has not only been nominated for a staff award, but also the Austin Office Bravery Award, for her humane rescue and release of the birds who find themselves inside the Austin office.
