Hello everyone, this is my daughter Lyla who is 5 years old. She is sassy, kind, caring, loving, outgoing, and just an amazing little girl. Lyla loves to play with her dolls and line them up one by one and says she's having a tea party or a secret meeting in her secret hideout.

On Tuesday night, November 17, Lyla was admitted to the children's hospital in Reno at Renown. We found out that there was a blockage in her appendix and a lot of air in her belly, which resulted in her having an infection and being diagnosed with appendicitis.

Due to the severity of Lyla's symptoms, she had to get surgery and a blood transfusion. She is now in the ICU recovering and will continue to stay at the children's hospital until further notice. 

In addition, Lyla will be spending this Thanksgiving holiday at the hospital away from family and friends. We would appreciate any donations and shares for our little girl's unexpected medical journey.

 

Update: 11/26

Lyla is out of the ICU and is now in the children hospital recovering. We are still no where close to going home. She is slowly making progress.

Update: 11/30

Lyla had spiked a fever and needed another CT scan. She is still in a lot of pain. She trying her best to walk and play. 

Update 12/2 

Yesterday (12/1) Lyla had to get another procedure done. She is now recovering from this smaller surgery. And is in a lot of pain and discomfort. She will be in the hospital little more longer. With Christmas coming around corner any help will be appreciated greatly. Thank you.

12/05:

Lyla had another surgery and will be needing 2nd blood transfusion. She was in a lot of pain and discomfort this morning before her surgery. Her CT scan results showed she still had fluid in her tummy and had to get that fluid drained a 2nd time. She is now resting and recovering once more in the hospital. 

12/8 

Lyla no longer needs her TPN, now that she is eating food on her own. On 12/7 Lyla got her 1st drain out and her pain has reduced. She is walking a lot more around and playing with toys. She is still taking slow but she is doing so much better since the last update! We are so happy and grateful that she is feeling better. One step closer to going home.
