Help Us Get to the 2024 World Championship in Karate!

Hi Everyone!

My brother and I are raising funds to compete at the 2024 World Championship in Karate, just 6 weeks away. We need your help getting there! Competing again on a global stage has been a dream for us, and we've been working towards this opportunity for years. We trained hard for Nationals and we won this year, qualifying us for the Worlds this October - this is our chance and you can be part of it!

Who We Are and What We Believe in:

My name is Lyla and I'm a 2-time World Champion (Czech Republic 2019- Gold and Bronze) and 5-time US National Champion. My brother Avichai is a 3-time World Champion (Czech Republic 2019- Gold and 2 Bronze) and 5-time US National Champion. We’ve put in countless hours perfecting our stances through Kata and fighting in Kumite, and we’re officially invited to represent Team USA! We believe in earning our way however competing on an international platform simply costs more in travel, mandatory team training and accommodations.

How We've Raised Some Money So Far:

Lemonade Stand Business Plan: My brother and I created a business plan for our lemonade stands, with the philosophy of “pay what’s in your heart”, good one, huh?! We’ve spent hours at parks and community events selling our secret family recipe, and we’re proud of not only sharing our favorite drink but also earning our way to past Nationals and now, to the World Championship this year!

Teaching at Our Dojo: With over 9 years of experience in the Rokah dojo, our Sensei’s trust us with their students- to pass on the authentic traditions of Shotokan Karate. We especially like teaching younger kids everything we’ve learned. We know how important the balance between learning confidence in your own ability and keeping elements of fun is the secret sauce in making a champion.

Scholarships & School Support: We've applied for several scholarships, are seeking sponsorships (please reach out if this interests you for our packages) and have our school, friends and family rallying behind us. It’s been amazing to see our community step up and support us in different ways.

Despite all these efforts, getting to the World Championship has been difficult this year because of rising travel costs and other expected and unexpected personal and familial difficulties. That’s why we’re asking for your help! Every contribution, big or small, is so very much appreciated and will bring us one step closer to fulfilling our dreams - representing Team USA on the world stage once again.
