Hello, my name is Salve Calumpad, and I am reaching out on behalf of the mother of my close friend, Lydia Revivis.
About Lydia:
Lydia Revivis is 65 years old and currently resides in the Philippines. She traveled to Calgary, Alberta Canada to visit her son Jerome and his family, and to see and spend time with her newborn grandchild.
On the afternoon of October 18, 2025, between about 1:00 and 2:00 p.m., Lydia planned to go out with relatives and her grandchild. While she was in the bathroom getting ready, there was suddenly a loud thud from inside. Her son Jerome heard the noise and asked if she was okay. At first she said she was fine, but when he asked again she did not respond. Gerom forced the door open and found her sitting on the floor, staring upward, and then she suddenly lost consciousness.
They panicked and immediately called 911. Paramedics arrived quickly and took her to the Foothills Medical Centre.
Upon arrival, the medical team promptly ran critical tests and found that Lydia had a brain hemorrhage—a life-threatening condition involving bleeding in the brain. She was taken straight into emergency surgery to relieve pressure from the bleeding. Lydia is currently in the recovery room but requires intensive monitoring. The medical team is monitoring her closely, and we remain hopeful as they continue to watch for any signs of improvement.
The Challenge:
Although Lydia purchased travel insurance before traveling, its coverage is limited and insufficient to cover the large medical expenses associated with this critical emergency. As a visitor to Canada she is not eligible for the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP). The cumulative costs for emergency surgery, intensive care, and possible rehabilitation are overwhelming for her and her family.
Our Request:
We humbly reach out to compassionate people for help. Your generous contributions will directly support Lydia's medical expenses, including:
• Emergency surgery costs
• Intensive care unit charges
• Post-operative care and rehabilitation
• Medications and medical supplies
Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to ensuring Lydia receives the care she needs to recover and return to the Philippines.
Thank you for taking the time to read Lydia's story. Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with others who might be willing to help. Together, we can make a difference.
Note: This campaign is organized by Salve Calumpad on behalf of the Revivis family. All funds raised will be used exclusively for Lydia’s medical expenses and related costs.
Thank you!
God bless.
