Hi, I’m Lydia- I’ve been living with a complex case of lupus and lupus nephritis that’s done everything except pay rent in my body. After years of trying to manage this locally, my specialists have officially referred me to the Mayo Clinic — one of the top centers in the country — for more advanced evaluation and care.

That referral is a huge deal. It’s hope. But it also comes with travel, lodging, testing, and costs that I simply can’t cover on my own, nor will my insurance cover it.

I never imagined I’d be here — with my doctor literally handing me a GoFundMe link like it was a prescription. But here we are.

Despite being young, I’ve already racked up years of exhausting trial treatments, side effects that knock me down for days, and medical bills that just keep growing. truly, to my bones- i’m tired of this, grandpa. I’ve fought hard to keep working and stay afloat, but the reality is: I’m out of options that don’t involve asking for help.

So I’m doing the hard thing — and I’m asking.
