URGENT! Help us get a new apartment so we won’t be homeless anymore!

Hi everyone,

Great news, we found an apartment we qualify for, but we need your help!

As some of you know, we lost our apartment due to Hurricane Milton. After our FEMA hotels ended in January, we bounced around friends, AirBnBs, and hotels, then lived in our car for 10 days. Now we’ve been in a homeless shelter for over 7 weeks. Yuck, very dirty.

Now, we’ve been approved for an apartment that we can afford the monthly rent, but we need help with the first month, security deposit and moving expenses. The monthly rent is $1100, and the security deposit is only $300. We’re estimating the movers at about $1100 because that’s what it took to move from the last place to storage. We’re so happy happy happy to finally have our own place again!

I know everybody’s been going through a lot nowadays, but we need help. We’re grateful for any donations.

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes yesterday!

Most people who are homeless have no resources left and that is why they become homeless. When trying to climb out of homelessness - they have none of their own resources left. All has been spent trying to stay afloat.

This is the situation my son and I are in.

We moved into a new apartment 10 days ago and part of the reason we could do it was because they only wanted prorated rent for the first half month. But now 15 days later we need to come up with another whole month of rent and I do not have the resources to do this, so help from friends and family is still needed.

I have to pay rent - but I still have not gotten movers to move my furniture and belongings out of storage and into my new apartment. My social security check will pay for one thing but not both.

The movers are obviously a one time expense - then I will be okay. Next step will be job hunting so if you have any leads, let me know.
