"Please help Lydia and Her Daughter After the Eaton Fire"

On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, just one week into the new year, my oldest and dearest friend, Lydia, was forced to flee her home in Altadena with only her daughter and the clothes on their backs as the Eaton fire tore through their community. Terrified, but trying to stay strong for her little girl, Lydia hoped they’d return the next day to find life as they knew it still intact. But that hope was shattered. Not only did they lose their home, but the entire community was wiped out—including her daughter’s school, where she has been since preschool.

Imagine being a child who loses everything—home, friends, and community—all in a single day. And as a mother, trying to explain such a loss while finding the strength to rebuild from the ground up. Lydia is a dedicated kindergarten teacher, a loving mother, and a kind-hearted friend, always putting others before herself. Now, she needs our help.

This tragedy has left my family devastated, and we’re reaching out to you for support. No gift is too small. Your kindness can make a real difference in helping them find their footing again. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
