SEPT.  18 UPDATE: https://247sports.com/college/tennessee/LongFormArticle/Nicky-Anosike-thanks-Lady-Vols-and-Vol-Nation-for-outpour-of-support-171180222/

UPDATE: The target goal has been updated to the exact amount needed to get the family financially stabilized. Every $1 helps. Let's get this across the finish line!

UPDATE: Both twins are now home with their parents, Nicky Anosike-Chima and Uzochukwu Chidinma Chima. It was a long process, and the smaller twin had multiple surgeries and had to be transferred to Vanderbilt in Nashville. But, while he still has a lot of catching up to do, he recovered and was able to join his brother and get out of the hospital. THANK YOU to everyone who stepped up. The family's need is still great, and we are so close to goal. Again, THANK YOU. Nicky and her family also extend their gratitude.

Lady Vol basketball player Nicky Anosike won two national titles at Tennessee, got married and became a high school basketball coach at Anderson County in Clinton, Tennessee. In the fall of 2020, she became pregnant with twin boys in a high-risk pregnancy. She has been hospitalized since March and her sons, Cheluchi and Chiemezie, arrived safely into the world June 5 and are in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Cheluchi will need surgery on his  stomach to correct an issue. During what she expected to be a routine checkup, she learned that one baby was struggling and was advised she may need to terminate that baby to save the other. For Nicky, that wasn't a choice she would make, and she became determined to save both babies. She changed medical providers and had to be hospitalized immediately to be monitored around the clock and await the birth of her two sons. During this time, her medical bills have been mounting higher and higher. While she has health insurance, it won't cover multiple costs that are taking a tremendous financial toll, and she has not been able to work for three months. Her husband, Uzochukwu Chidinma Chima, has been waiting for months for permanent resident status and has not been able to be by her side. His visa finally was approved June 4 but won't be issued for at least a week. Chima will travel to the United States from Nigeria as soon as he has his visa. Nicky needs Lady Vol Nation's help. Please donate any amount if you can. Nicky Anosike is a Lady Vol for Life and that long orange line never breaks. Let's do this for Big Nick.
