Help LuzMaria pay her medical bills

On Thanksgiving day our Aunt LuzMaria was preparing to go on getaway to spend the weekend with her son. To our complete shock, she fell down some stairs and landed perfectly on the wrong part of her spine…which resulted in complete paralysis.

She went into emergency surgery on Thanksgiving day. Surgery went well but she has been diagnosed with a fractured cervical vertebrae and hematoma and was treated with a disectamy and fusion in her cervical spine, resulting in a metal plate in her neck. The doctors say that 1-2 mm of nerves can heal a day. So this will be a VERY long recovery but with grace, time and very hard work, she could potentially gain her health and mobility back.

At this time, she has regained some movement in her arms and wrist. However, no motor functionality in her hands and fingers, for now. She’s essentially bedridden and is forgoing intense physical therapy daily. She is as positive as a person can be in her situation and completely believes that she’ll fully recover!

Our Aunt Luz Maria is a single mother of two young adult boys. One is currently attending school but recently had to find a job to help ease the recent financial burden. The other has been stationed in our US military since 2019. Luz María has been self employed as a medical historian and has relied on a single income since her husband passed away in 2012. But unfortunately, she receives no income unless she is physically working.

Our family is humbly asking for help, any help and with no judgement or strings attached…but really were asking for a miracle for our poor Aunt. For a strong women who’s already had a tough road and story, yet NEVER asks for anything that she can’t do herself and who would ALWAYS be the first to give and provide for anyone in need. Our beautiful Aunt LuzMaria and her kind spirit need a win! Because sadly, she’s using what little she has financially and her insurance will only pay a portion of these, already high, medical bills. After that she has nothing left to pay her other bills!
